Tama Art University in Japan is gearing up to host its third Think With Pokemon: Art & Environment Education exhibit soon. Scheduled to take place from March 27 to April 6, 2025, this free program will feature a new addition focusing on recycled paper.
Students at the university have crafted various Pokemon Upcycle Sculptures using materials like nets, game cassettes, potholders, clothespins, and more. As part of the exhibit’s emphasis on eco-friendly designs, the program will now include a workshop on March 29 and April 6 where children and parents can create their own Poke Balls.
Starting from March 11, 2025, applications will be open for the workshop, which will teach kids how to make Poke Balls using recycled paper and cardboard. Each session will accommodate fifteen children along with one supervisor, promoting sustainability and creativity among the younger audience.
The Think With Pokemon: Art & Environment Education exhibit aims to showcase over 70 different species of Pokemon while instilling the joy of imagination and hands-on creation. This initiative aligns with the growing trend towards eco-conscious practices, with a specific focus on utilizing recycled materials in art and design projects.
As the university continues to advocate for environmental awareness through art, the inclusion of the recycled paper workshop serves as a testament to the importance of sustainability in creative endeavors. The upcoming exhibit promises to inspire participants to think creatively while also highlighting the significance of repurposing materials to reduce waste and promote a greener future.
In conjunction with the exhibit, the latest Pokemon installment, Pokemon Legends Z-A, is set for release on the Nintendo Switch later this year, further emphasizing the enduring popularity and influence of the beloved franchise in both entertainment and educational spheres.
