Crafting Magic: Embracing Eco-Friendly Designs with Recycled Paper Poke Balls

Tama Art University in Japan is set to enchant visitors with its third installment of the Think With Pokemon: Art & Environment Education exhibit. Scheduled to captivate audiences from March 27 to April 6, 2025, this free program showcases the imaginative prowess of students through the art of crafting with recycled paper.

The exhibit highlights a myriad of promotional images featuring intricate sculptures crafted by the university’s students. Among these creations are the remarkable Pokemon Upcycle Sculptures like the Ogerpon, ingeniously assembled from discarded nets, game cassettes, and other repurposed materials. Additionally, the whimsical Zorua sculpture, constructed from potholders, clothespins, and goggles, showcases the students’ resourcefulness in breathing new life into everyday items.

With over 70 Pokemon species on display, the exhibition not only aims to spark joy through creativity but also educates on the significance of eco-friendly designs. As part of the experience, Tama Art University will host a workshop on March 29 and April 6, 2025, where children and parents can immerse themselves in crafting their very own Poke Balls. Registration for this hands-on event opens on March 11, 2025, offering an opportunity for participants to learn the craft of making Poke Balls using sustainable materials like cardboard and recycled paper.
