Yet, as these solutions become more mainstream, the complexities of recycling paper, especially composite packaging, are becoming increasingly evident.

While the EnEWA project has concluded, its impact continues. STADLER is now a partner in the SPaRe project, focusing on enhancing the energy efficiency of paper recycling processes. This initiative aims to save a significant amount of energy annually and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, emphasizing the existing technology’s potential to address paper recycling challenges. Overcoming regulatory barriers, enhancing waste management practices, and educating consumers about proper recycling methods are crucial steps for the packaging industry to transform paper waste into a valuable resource and accelerate the transition to a circular economy.
